Over this last weekend we took a little family trip to a beach about 2 hours away from our house and the city. It was a welcomed short break from the hustle and bustle of our missionary lives. We left on Friday around noon and returned to Porto Alegre to make it to most of our church family's once a month get together (the monthly Celebration).
Going to the beach is what 99% of Brazilians do from the months of November to March or so (if you don't already live on or by the beach - which most people do). We don't go to the beach that often, but when we do it is fun. We have had a good time before, but that was before Elisa was walking and destroying sand castles with such ease.
This little girl absolutely loves the beach (really anything that has to do with water)! We spent the first half of Saturday playing in a little pool under an umbrella at the beach and every now and then running out into the ocean (Atlantic - for those of you who didn't major in Geography). She was really funny about the waves. She would run toward them screaming with glee and when they would recede she would yell "AGAIN!" and "MORE!" with no patience. It was pretty funny. We had to watch her really close though because she has no fear. She would run straight out into the water if she could. Anyway, it was a lot of fun.
Our good friends, Dani and Alexandre, went with their little girl, Ana Luisa, too. Elisa and Ana Luisa had a great time playing together. We hope for more great times at the beach with our friends this summer season while we can. Before you know it we will be complaining about the cold weather of South Brazil.
Here are some pictures of Elisa having a good old time at the beach. Enjoy!
